WEST U WELLNESS

MARCH FOCUS

This month, West U Wellness is emphasizing nutritional wellness!

We encourage families to introduce new and healthy foods into their diets this month, and talk about the importance of meals and snacks as fuel for our bodies. See if you can eat a (naturally occurring) rainbow of fruits and veggies in a meal!

About West U Wellness

West U Wellness is a school-wide initiative at West University Elementary, co-led by counselor Becky Sodaberg and Dr. Elizabeth Miller, that fosters the health and well-being of students, staff, and families. By weaving physical, emotional, technological, and social wellness into daily school life, the program helps children thrive through nutrition education, mindfulness practices, movement, and community-wide events.

The goal is to cultivate lifelong healthy habits, provide students, parents, and teachers with practical tools, and create a culture where wellness is part of both learning and growing together. Through this initiative, West U Wellness empowers students and families to strengthen resilience, practice balance, and prioritize self-care, building a foundation of wellness that supports the entire school community.
