Each year our qualifying club members from the previous year are offered a spot if they had reached the minimum participation "Brick" points, as well as fulfilled the criteria of having a parent volunteer for a minimum of one meeting/activity. After returning members are accounted for, we normally have half our spots open for new incoming members.

The new incoming members can get a spot through a first-come, first-serve signup process through Google Forms.  Registration requests are time-stamped.  We want a minimum number of club spots to go to 3-5th graders so these "upper-classman" prospective members have priority until 13 seats are filled (also taking into account our returning students).  After 13 spots are filled with 3-5th graders, the remaining 13 seats are filled with K-5th. After the spots are claimed, club members are not finalized until they return a signed packet of paperwork including a Membership Agreement Form, a Media Consent Form, and an Emergency Contact Form.  Once these documents are received, they have officially joined Brick Club.  Members also must abide by the attendance policy throughout the year, or risk being replaced by a student on the waitlist.

WHAT DOES THE BRICK CLUB DO?

Each month members will meet and learn about new engineering methods to construct Brick MOCs (My Own Creations). Each meeting will comprise of a theme, a building method, and a challenge (group or individual). These builds will encourage creativity and show various strategies in art (mosaics), lighting, scale, and motion. There is "free build" time, but there is also a competitive component. We learn by challenging each other.

Members are welcome to bring their own bricks from home to use, or use those provided in our club collection. Bricks from home must be brought in a resealable labeled container. There is no guarantee that 100% of the bricks will make it back home; this is the responsibility of the student member. Bricks from the club collection will stay at school so members will not bring home their creations.
