Undies donations are often overlooked, but these little layers can lead to greatness and give every kid a chance at success. Who knows—whether through the simple act of giving or receiving new undies—one pair, somewhere, may be just the change a person needs. As Undies for Everyone champion Brené Brown said, “Underwear is something you take for granted until you don’t have it.”
WHAT IS UNDIES FOR EVERYONE?
It started as a single blog post ten years ago.
Underwear is a basic need most of us take for granted—and it’s one of the most overlooked items donated to kids who aren’t so lucky. When a social worker pointed this out to Rabbi Amy Weiss, she was inspired to write a blog in the “Houston Chronicle” calling for help. Rabbi Amy was blown away by the enthusiastic response from readers, whose small, informal donations and collections quickly snowballed from her living room in Houston into a registered nonprofit, Undies for Everyone.

WUES students will have a virtual author visit
from Christine Van Zandt, author of
A Brief History of Underpants.
One part humor, one part history, A Brief History of Underpants explores the evolution of fashion's most unmentionable garment.
Purchase a signed copy of A Brief History of Underpants for $10 and you will receive a signed copy of the book and $5 of each purchase will be donated to Undies For Everyone.
Books are available for purchase from April 26-May 7. Books will be distributed to classrooms.
