The 2025-2026 school year proudly marks 100 years of learning, leadership, and legacy. For a full century, our Mustangs have galloped forward, guided by dedicated educators, supported by an extraordinary community, and inspired by generations of students who have shaped West University Elementary’s story.

Join us on Saturday, August 23rd, from 9am to 11am as we kick off our centennial with a community-wide parade, honoring the past, celebrating the present, and charging into the future!

Bring your family, wear your Mustang colors, and join in on an exciting morning filled with music, vintage flair, and school spirit. Whether you're a current student, proud alum, neighbor, or longtime supporter, this parade is for you.

Where | Grab a spot along the parade route and stick around after for some post parade fun!

Spectators can watch the parade by following the parade route mapped in detail below. The route will follow the block around the school, starting on Auden in front of the library, and then proceed down Auden St. towards University. The route will continue onto University, passing WUES. The route then proceeds onto Edloe Street, heading towards Goode St. The parade will end at Goode St.

Continue the celebration after the parade with water inflatable activities (pack your swimsuits) on Gibson, Ahrens, and Old Ahrens Fields, food trucks on Goode St., and a firetruck water spray finale on Bullard Field.
Drinks | BYO-Bottle! Refillable water stations will be located near Threet Field and Goode St. In support of our Zero-Waste Initiative, we encourage all attendees to bring a reusable water bottle. Water cups will be available to parade participants who walk the parade and do not want to carry a water bottle.
Food | Food will be available for purchase from the Food Truck area on Goode St. With local restaurants also open and ready to serve you! Credit cards only.
Inflatables | It’s time to cool off! Pack your swimsuit and enter at your own risk. These activities are geared towards elementary age children and older.
Fire Truck Spray | Cool off at the end of the celebration (approx. 10:30) at the West U Firetruck sprays water onto Bullard Field! Enter at your own risk. The water pressure can be strong; therefore, this activity is recommended for 2nd grade and up.

Parking | University Blvd., Auden, and Edloe will be closed to traffic all morning. Parking will be limited! We highly encourage walking or sharing a ride.
